Artist Books
Here’s a sampling of artist books I’ve created over the past few years. Books include original hand pulled prints, original photos and poetry.
“If I Only Had a Heart”
Pop up book exploring the 3 Laws of Robotics, by Isaac Asimov.
“The Scablands: High Desert Stories”
This book is about the high desert Scablands of eastern Washington, with multiple opening elements that explore the intricate geology of the area.
“Chasing Shadows”
An accordian structure book about Seattle’s Duwamish River. It includes multiple printmaking techniques and inserted elements and letterpress. Original poem and imagery speak to the displaced indigenous peoples who lived along the River and the River’s transformation into an industrial waterway.
“Out of Darkness”
A modified flag book that speaks to the human journey from life’s dark places toward the light.
“Secrets”
An opening box with multiple opening elements and a poem by Lola Ridge.
“All Along the Columbia”
A dragonfold structure with original prints, photographs and historic maps of the Columbia River.
